About Us
The Furry Club at OSU is a student-led group celebrating the furry fandom, centered around anthropomorphic animal characters. We run meetups, host creative events, support each other, and share cool stuff about the furry fandom. You don't need to know anything about furry to join—just bring your curiosity and come have some fun with us!
The Furry Club at Oregon State University (Beavfurs) exists to celebrate and uplift the diverse community of students who are passionate about anthropomorphic animals and the furry fandom. Our mission is to provide a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment where members can explore self-expression through fursonas, art, performance, and creativity. Whether you've been a furry for years or are just curious about the fandom, we invite you to join us in our journey of discovery and fun.
We strive to foster meaningful connections through regular meetups, art sessions, educational events, and collaborative projects. By raising awareness about furry culture and embracing the many ways people express themselves, we aim to build a strong, supportive, and joyful community at OSU. Our club proudly supports LGBTQ+ members, promotes respect and kindness, and stands against discrimination in all forms.

Furry Fandom
Furries are fans of anthropomorphic animals — think walking, talking, cartoon critters with human traits.

At its core, the furry fandom is a vibrant community built around a love for animal characters with human qualities. These might be wolves who wear hoodies, dragons who paint, or cats who run cafés in colorful, imagined worlds. People express their fandom in all sorts of ways: drawing art, writing stories, crafting costumes, or simply enjoying the creativity of others. It's all about imagination, self-expression, and belonging.
Furry culture is often misunderstood, but at its heart, it's about creative freedom, personal expression, and connection. Whether you're doodling a fox in class, vibing with your inner kitty, or finding your voice through your fursona, the furry fandom gives you the space to be unapologetically you.
According to the Furry Club at OSU's constitution, a furry is 'an individual who is interested in anthropomorphic animal characters, often expressed through art, literature, role-playing, and other creative endeavors.' That means furries are artists, writers, gamers, performers, and most importantly — people who care about building inclusive communities and sharing joy through their interests.

Hey everyone! My name's Jack, I've been in the furry community since 2016 but I only became active in 2020. My current fursona (the one in the pictures) is a pink fox that I haven't technically named yet, but I just call him Coffee Fox (because I really like coffee). In my normal life, I'm a programmer and I do some hobby game dev. I also go to a lot of cons, so if you see me, say hi!!
